Superfoods we use at Algae Market
Especially for our beverage powders Spirtonic , Joy Potion and Spiral Flow We have developed powerful spice blends, each of which we refine with a special superfood ingredient:
👉 at Spirtonic it's Guaraná for the energy boost,
👉 at Spiral Flow Banana and Tulsi for revitalization.
Here's a brief overview of our superfood ingredients:
Spirulina algae
Spirulina is a recognized superfood, rich in iron and high-quality protein. Its cultivation is considered particularly sustainable in terms of energy and water consumption. Our spirulina is air-dried at a maximum temperature of 42°C – this preserves vital nutrients and a mild flavor.
Acerola – tangy, fresh & rich in vitamins
The acerola fruit is one of the fruits richest in vitamin C: 100 g of fresh juice contains around 1000–1500 mg of vitamin C. Therefore, it is a key ingredient in many natural food supplements.
Acerola is eaten raw when fresh, but it is too soft and juicy for export. Therefore, it is gently freeze-dried and processed into powder immediately after harvesting.
ℹ️ Note: There are indications of cross-allergies with natural latex.
Ginger – exotically strong
The tuberous ginger is one of the best-known spice and medicinal plants in the world. Ginger rhizomes have been cultivated in Asia for millennia and are known for their fruity-spicy flavor. They contain a viscous balsam (oleoresin) composed of essential oils and pungent compounds called gingerols and shogaols. These substances have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and stimulate digestion, bile flow, and circulation. In traditional medicine, ginger is also used to treat colds, muscle pain, and rheumatism.
Chai spices – the classics
- Cinnamon : aromatic and sweet, rich in essential oils, used in China since 3000 BC.
- Cardamom : sweet and spicy, popular in curries, baked goods and tea.
- Pepper : the "king of spices", intense and slightly spicy.
- Clove : spicy and aromatic, equally popular in sweet and savory dishes.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon was once among the most expensive spices in the world and is believed to have been used as a spice in China as early as 3000 BC. Cinnamon is obtained from the bark of the South Asian cinnamon tree, has an aromatic, sweet flavor, and contains valuable essential oils.
cardamom
Cardamom has been one of the most popular spices throughout Asia and the Arab world for millennia. Its delicate, sweet and spicy aroma makes it ideal for use in numerous dishes – from spicy curries to aromatic Christmas cookies.
pepper
Black pepper, also known as the "king of spices," is today, alongside salt, the most important spice in the world. It originates from the Malabar Coast of India and has an intensely aromatic and mildly spicy to hot flavor.
clove
Cloves are the flower buds of the clove tree and are primarily known in our latitudes as a spice in both sweet and savory dishes. They belong to the myrtle family and possess an intensely aromatic fragrance, for which they were even valued as highly as gold in ancient China and Egypt.
SPIRTONIC – magic ingredient Guarana
The power synergy for demanding moments: Simply stir a spoonful of Spirtonic into apple juice – and your natural energy booster is ready.
Guaraná – makes you alert, clear & focused
Guaraná has been used by the indigenous people of the Amazon region for centuries.
Guarana is cultivated as a climbing plant on plantations in Brazil, Venezuela, and Paraguay. Propagation from seed is difficult. Similar to cocoa/chocolate, guarana paste was used. The seeds contain caffeine and have an effect similar to coffee, but longer lasting. Traditionally, guarana was drunk as a paste mixed with water and honey. Today, it is used as a light brown powder.
Contains caffeine
SPIRAL FLOW – vital ingredients tulsi & banana
Spiral Flow combines superfoods for revitalization – ideal as a month-long course to stay fit and "in the flow".
Tulsi – the sacred peace
Also known as Indian basil, it grows as a perennial herbaceous plant and reaches heights of up to 100 centimeters. Tulsi is considered a medicinal plant in Ayurveda and is usually consumed as a tea. The phenols and flavonoids it contains have antioxidant properties and can help balance stress.
Banana – nutrient-rich & easily digestible
Bananas (Musa), formerly known as paradise figs, are a genus of plants in the banana family (Musaceae). Bananas provide calcium, magnesium, antioxidants, and vitamins. They support muscle function, regulate metabolism, and are particularly easy on the gut – perfect as a natural food for those who are ill.
