Description

Spirulina crumble spice mill

What is the Spirulina Streusel Spice Mill?

With our Spirulina spice mill, you always have your daily portion of Spirulina readily available – freshly ground, full of nutrients and versatile in its uses.
The adjustable grinder allows you to choose the consistency:

  • Roughly suitable for salads and savory dishes
  • Great for smoothies, dressings or bowls

Our spirulina is gently dried in raw food quality and then processed into crispy crumbles – ideal for grinding directly at the table or in the kitchen.

Why is a spice mill with spirulina worthwhile?

  • Fresh aroma: Directly ground spirulina is more intense and nutrient-rich than pre-ground powders.
  • Practical & creative: Create your own spice mix – e.g. with chili, sesame or herbs.
  • Sustainable: Refilling large packs instead of buying small quantities saves money and packaging.
  • Stylish: Glass containers as an eye-catcher on any table.

Which spices go well with spirulina?

Basically, all dry spices are suitable. Particularly popular in combination with spirulina are:

  • Salt & pepper
  • Chili or bell pepper
  • Vanilla & Cinnamon
  • Cardamom, caraway, cloves
  • Mediterranean herbs such as thyme or oregano

This is how you can create your very own spice blend.

How do I clean the spirulina spice mill?

  • Add some uncooked rice
  • Grind several times – the rice cleanses and removes moisture.
  • Optional: Sweep out the grinder with a dry brush.

Why store spirulina in a glass jar?

The glass container makes the contents immediately visible. However, spirulina should not be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods, as this will cause the chlorophyll to break down and the algae to turn bluish.

➤ Tip: Store spirulina crumbles in a dark place and regularly refill the mill with fresh material – this will optimally preserve nutrients and vibrant green color.

What is spirulina?

Spirulina is a nutrient-rich microalga that is among the oldest life forms on Earth. It grows in alkaline freshwater lakes and is known for its high content of proteins, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants . Due to this nutrient density, spirulina is considered a " superfood " and is often used as a dietary supplement in the form of sprinkles, flakes, powder, or tablets.

What does German spirulina taste like?

German spirulina is distinguished by its particularly mild flavor compared to many foreign varieties. It has a delicate umami taste with a pleasantly spicy note – ideal as a topping or natural seasoning. This is due, among other things, to the amino acid glutamic acid it contains, which is also known as a natural flavor enhancer .

Is German spirulina certified organic?

German spirulina itself is not officially certified organic, but it meets all the standards of a natural, pollutant-free raw food production.

How do I best use German spirulina sprinkles?

Spirulina is eaten raw – this way all nutrients are optimally preserved.
You can simply use them like a spice:

• Sprinkle over noodle and rice dishes, soups, steamed vegetables or salads
• Stir into juices, muesli or yogurts
• Use as an ingredient for pesto, guacamole, smoothies or savory dips

You can find more information about its use in our blog article: “How do I use spirulina?”
