Nori flakes – organic red algae for sushi, bowls & soups
What are nori flakes?
Nori is an edible seaweed from the red algae family. Its thin, papery sheets are dark red to purple in color and have a mild, slightly nutty taste.
Nori is particularly well-known from Japanese cuisine – as a classic sushi wrapper or an aromatic addition to soups. The seaweed grows on rocky seabeds, primarily in the coastal waters of Japan, but also in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Nori is rich in bioavailable iodine , minerals and trace elements – a true superfood from the sea.

Nori flakes are versatile – raw, soaked, or as an ingredient:

- Soaked : 10–15 minutes in water, then rinse – this makes the texture soft and delicate.
- Seasoning & DIY : Use in smoothies, as a salt substitute, or combine with sesame, chili & herbs to create your own spice blends.
Gourmet tip: Grind nori with roasted sesame seeds – this makes a savory, iodine-rich seasoning.
