Description

German Spirulina Sprinkles

What makes our spirulina sprinkles special?

Our German-made spirulina crumbles are lightly crispy, pleasantly spicy, and go well with numerous dishes. They are perfect as a topping for salads, soups, vegetable dishes, or bowls – making wholesome eating even easier and tastier.

Spices complete every dish – and our Spirulina Streusel Spice brings together taste and nutrients in perfect balance!

Spirulina contains many important minerals such as iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc.
Its naturalblue pigment, phycocyanin, acts as a powerful antioxidant. With a protein content of up to 70% plant-based protein – including all eight essential amino acids – spirulina is an excellent protein source. It is also alkaline and particularly rich in chlorophyll, which is known for its cleansing and revitalizing properties.

Where do our spirulina sprinkles come from?

Our German spirulina sprinkles come from a partner farm in Hesse, where the microalgae has been cultivated with the utmost care since 2016.

Production is carried out using traditional and gentle methods, with a special focus on raw food quality: Thanks to gentle drying at below 42 °C, the valuable nutrients and enzymes are fully preserved.

Sustainable & climate-neutral :

  • The entire cultivation process uses 100% renewable energy.
  • The water used comes from a spring area in the Vogelsberg-Rhön water protection area.
  • Production is resource-efficient – with low water consumption, little energy input and minimal land use.

Certified quality:
Each batch is analyzed independently and is subject to our quality guarantee. The current batch analysis can be found transparently in the appendix.

How do you dose spirulina sprinkles correctly?

Spirulina sprinkles are ideal as a daily course of treatment for 1 to 3 months – or for regular intake throughout the year.

At least 1 teaspoon per day (approx. 3 g)

Simply sprinkle over salads, rice, vegetables, or into smoothies, just like a spice. Ideal for your daily intake of vital nutrients – 1 to 3 teaspoons per day are sufficient.

Tip:
For better iron absorption, it is best to combine spirulina with a source of vitamin C – for example, lemon juice, bell peppers or fresh berries.

Tip for drinks: For drinks, we recommend our ground spirulina sprinkles – or you can grind them fresh directly at the table with our seaweed spice mill set .

German Spirulina Farm

Our Hessian spirulina farm and the harvest of spirulina for crumble.

What is spirulina?

Spirulina is a nutrient-rich microalga that is among the oldest life forms on Earth. It grows in alkaline freshwater lakes and is known for its high content of proteins, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants . Due to this nutrient density, spirulina is considered a " superfood " and is often used as a dietary supplement in the form of sprinkles, flakes, powder, or tablets.

What does German spirulina taste like?

German spirulina is distinguished by its particularly mild flavor compared to many foreign varieties. It has a delicate umami taste with a pleasantly spicy note – ideal as a topping or natural seasoning. This is due, among other things, to the amino acid glutamic acid it contains, which is also known as a natural flavor enhancer .

Is German spirulina certified organic?

German spirulina itself is not officially certified organic, but it meets all the standards of a natural, pollutant-free raw food production.

How do I best use German spirulina sprinkles?

Spirulina is eaten raw – this way all nutrients are optimally preserved.
You can simply use them like a spice:

• Sprinkle over noodle and rice dishes, soups, steamed vegetables or salads
• Stir into juices, muesli or yogurts
• Use as an ingredient for pesto, guacamole, smoothies or savory dips
