Spirulina raw bread
A nutrient-rich raw bread made from sprouted sunflower seeds, flax seeds and spirulina – ideal as a healthy snack, for bowls or with hummus & spreads.
🕒 Preparation time:
- Active: approx. 25 minutes
- Soaking time: 4–8 hours
- Germination time: 24 hours
- Drying time: 10–24 hours at 40 °C
Ingredients (for about 10 small slices of bread)
- 100 g flaxseed
- 250 g sunflower seeds
- 15 g crumbled basil
- 10 g ground psyllium husks
- 20 g spirulina (powder or flakes)
- 200 ml water
- ½ tsp salt
preparation
- Soak sunflower seeds: Place in water for 4–8 hours.
- Drain and allow to germinate: Then rinse and allow to germinate in a dark bowl for 24 hours .
- To make flaxseed porridge: Mix flaxseeds with a little water until a soft, malleable mass is formed. Add more water if necessary.
- Mix the mixture: Add the flaxseed paste to the sprouted sunflower seeds.
- Add basil, spirulina, and psyllium husks .
- Season with ½ tsp salt and knead everything thoroughly with your hands .
- Shaping: Shape small slices of bread using your hands or a burger press – this makes about 10 pieces.

Drying: Depending on the moisture of the mixture, dry in the dehydrator at 40 °C for 10-24 hours .
Alternatively, dry in the oven at 50 °C with the door slightly open .
💡 Tip:
For more flavor, you can refine the mixture with dried tomatoes, herbs or sesame seeds.
