Spirulina chocolate

Aromatic, nutrient-rich and with a touch of superfood magic: This raw chocolate combines warm spices, natural date sweetness and the fine crunch of spirulina.

🕒 Preparation time: approx. 20–25 minutes

Ingredients (for approx. 20 small chocolates)

  • 150 g ceremonial or (block) chocolate (without or with little sugar)
  • 50 g raw cacao beans
  • 5 Medjool dates
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (Ceylon)
  • ¼ tsp cardamom, freshly ground
  • ½ tsp spirulina flakes (crunchy) or 1 tsp spirulina powder (homogeneous)
  • 1 tsp ground licorice
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 drop of orange oil

preparation

Melt cocoa:
Roughly chop the cocoa block and melt it slowly in a water bath.

Prepare the ingredients:
Pit the dates and roughly chop them.
Roughly chop the raw cocoa beans as well.

Stir in the spices:
Add cinnamon, cardamom, licorice, salt and spirulina to the liquid cocoa mass.
Optionally add orange oil.

Add dates and cocoa beans:
Gently fold both ingredients evenly into the chocolate mixture.

Forms:
Fill into chocolate molds or spread onto a baking sheet and break into pieces after cooling – for a rustic crunchy chocolate.
