Glazed Halloween pears

Ingredients

  • 4 pears
  • Juice of one squeezed lemon
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp chopped pistachios
  • 6 pine nuts (for the eyes)
  • 70 g birch sugar (xylitol)
  • 2 tsp spirulina powder
  • 30 ml water
  • A little grated tonka bean or vanilla

Instructions

  1. Peel the pears and place them in a baking dish.
  2. Mix lemon juice and maple syrup and pour over the pears.
  3. Bake at 180 °C fan-forced for 10–15 minutes (depending on the ripeness of the pears).
  4. Pulverize birch sugar in a mixer and mix with spirulina powder, water and tonka bean grated/vanilla to make a glaze.
  5. Brush the baked pears with the glaze.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios over the bottom third of the pears.
  7. Use pine nuts for the ghost eyes.
