Spirulina Hummus

Spirulina hummus

🕒 Preparation time: approx. 10 minutes

Ingredients (for 4 servings)

  • 250g cooked chickpeas (canned or home-cooked)
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil (approx. 25 g leaves)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp spirulina powder
  • 2 tbsp roasted pine nuts (plus a little more for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons of cold water (as needed, for creaminess)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

preparation

  1. Drain the chickpeas and rinse them briefly.
  2. Place in a blender or food processor along with basil, lemon juice, spirulina, pine nuts, tahini, garlic and olive oil .
  3. Blend everything until creamy, gradually adding cold water until the desired consistency is reached.
  4. Season with salt and pepper .
  5. Arrange in a bowl, drizzle with a little olive oil and garnish with pine nuts or basil leaves.

Tip:

  • Tastes delicious as a spread on bread, a dip for vegetable sticks, or as an extra in bowls and wraps.
